Use square instead

I downloaded stripe to see what it was like compared to square, your first transaction gets held for way too long. Square doesn’t do this, I would much rather continue using square their pay outs are timely

Nearly impossible to use

I have tried for several weeks to change my bank information on stripe and it will not allow me or have a person to talk to for customer service. I'm very frustrated with a payment sent to a wrong account which has been cancelled, I have tried with futility to change it over. It worked fine with the old account but changing it is becoming problematic with no customer service.

It’s a joke

Complete joke, sign up, initial payment of $2900+ dollars from a customer….i sent a support message simply asking about availability of funds since as a business literally every single payment system we’ve used has funds available next day, even when new. Well with stripe it “7 days” on the initial payment, understandable maybe. Well that simple question prompted an email saying funds were on hold until my issue was resolved… my issue of wondering timing. I replied and was told ok, we’ll take that message as feedback and not an “issue”. Fast forward to day 6, the day before funds should be available…… another email, funds are on hold until my “issue is resolved”… the issue of asking about timing that was resolved a few days earlier. And wouldn’t you know it, zero reply or response to my email today. We’re going to see what happens at midnight on day 7. So far it’s proven to be a joke based off of how their customer service has been so far

Crazy!!

2025 these guys want an insane fee AND it’s NOT INSTANT. they charge and insane rate and still takes about a week to have the money deposited into the bank account. CRAZY!!

Missing Payout + No customer support

As an independent contractor, I’ve been using Stripe to receive payments from my clients and I’ve had a missing payout that clients paid but is being withheld by Stripe. However, when I emailed Stripe Support over I was spammed with automated messages and the issue remained unresolved for months and still is unresolved today. They do not have a proper customer support contact number and only form of contact is email. Also, they have a horrible login and verification system that is unreliable. The dashboard is not helpful. Will not be using again. ‼️

Going to switch processors. I've been processing with Stripe for 10 years. We do millions of dollars in processing annually and we got one $50 charge back and now they are requiring financial records from us and an explanation about what it is we sell even though they more than $71,000 held in reserve. Big companies just lose their freaking corporate minds, with no common business sense at all.

Still no iPad app?

I love stripe (for the most part), but their mobile app is much more underpowered than the desktop web app. But I’m using an iPad, and somehow there is still no iPad app in 2025—which is completely unacceptable for this scale of a company, especially one as tech savvy as stripe. Basically—reviewed from an *iPad*—this app is pathetic and miserable to use.

You’ve told me 2 x to contact and you will investigate. All the link does it pit me back same in loop. Whoever structured your customer service should be fired and NOBODY SHOULD USE STRIPE. they are a nightmare. Total fail

Not helpful

Wow a 7 day hold on card payments for first time users that’s ridiculous do better. Stop holding peoples money that’s owed to them. Same as banks funny thing is a store knows if moneys on the card or a check. But a bank has to process to know don’t make much sense 🤷🏼‍♂️ And still holding money at the first time. They ain’t for small business don’t waste your time using stripe. This will be my last time

Horrible Processing times, fees, user friendliness. ZERO customer support. Highest fees with the longest payout times. They set their own stipulations for when you have access to the money that is yours, but they’ll still take their massive fee immediately. Any other processor will do you better than this

No payout was given

This company is affiliated with Thunder Pro which still has yet to pay out my money to me. No one returns calls or answers the phone. I lost 720 dollars which is a felony they are just as bad an thefts

Imposible comunication

There’s no phone nothing. It has retained several time money and after a week or so cancelled. So ai have to wait more until the customer get my money back and send it to me through venmo or zelle that are immediate. Dang it! Stripe even dare to charge 3% and I can’t even reach out to see what’s going on!

Verification hassle

Okay I spent atleast an hour, getting signed in and getting verified. Which is not to bad but it’s definitely time-consuming and stressful. I don’t like that during verification. They told me I was done and then proceeded to ask questions after and after. And then asked for my full ssn. And then said I was done and then returned me to the dashboard, and then proceeded to ask for more documentation I just wished it wasn’t such of a hassle all at once. And I wish that yall would be able to take documentation from other regions!

Waste of time

No phone number to call, can only email and wait 3-10 days for a reply. Fees are ridiculous, if any dispute happens you’re automatically punished and have to wait for 90 days. Client accidentally did a charge back, reversed it. Now I have a 25% reserve on all funds for 45 days with nothing I can do about it.

I guess if you’re new you have to wait 7 days, then once it arrived you have to wait another 2 days for your money plus they take out a percentage! Good thing it only happens once or I wouldn’t use this app!

Worst customer support experience ever. Do your business elsewhere. Definitely reporting to BBB. They treat people like garbage. I guess treating the customer with respect is something of the past. I’ve gotten better manners from a two year-old than I did from these people.. Someone should teach them patience. They’re getting paid. I wasn’t. In my highest echelon’s in life, I wouldn’t have dreamt of speaking to another human being as I was spoken to today. Karma. I closed my account. Or will be as soon as I get all the proof I need for whatever. They were worse than 2 catastrophic hurricanes. Trust me.

Poor customer service

No one knows what do with all these bugs in their system. I was on hold for an hour and nothing has been resolved. I have been relentlessly trying to resolve this issues for 16 days now. All I get is a scripted response or hug up on. Renzo hung up on me twice! This was an awful experience and I will make sure friends and family don’t use this service. Horrible experience.

Please do better than this. I downloaded the app just to be met with only a log in screen, no way to sign up. Are you serious right now? do better! how are we supposed to log in with no way to sign up and create an account? fix this!

What a joke

This app is the least user-friendly app I’ve ever crossed passed with. It is impossible to get someone on the phone. I’ve had money transfers error four times. I’ve switched my bank account on several occasions for some reason when I request a phone call back they sent an email saying they put my request on hold. How is this possible they have over $3000 that needs to be transferred in my account but you put me on hold I should be charging them fees. Incredibly disappointed will never use this applicant

Worst customer support/ scam

Don’t use this company unless you want repeated issues. From the moment I started using stripe it’s been issue after issue. I did an asset sale last year to buy a business from someone . This card reader was included. We reached out to the customer support which seems to only be AI. We followed all steps switch ownership of the device. For the first three weeks payment would only go to thier bank even after switching to my bank account. I only had the last two months of the year as transactions. Somehow this company decided to make me responsible for all the previous owners transactions and put all of their moneys made onto MY 1099k form. It’s been two weeks and this company is giving the run around, keeps switching agents dealing w my case and can’t seem to understand the issues or resolve them. Don’t use this company unless you want all your payments and taxes to be absolutely screwed up with no real person to fix it.

Pain to get paid

You have to wait forever to receive money clients have paid deposited into your account. They just say that it is your banks fault, but when FreshBooks used WePay, money was always transferred between 12-24 hours after the client paid. Stripe averages 4-7 or more days for a deposit to get to my account. I hate this system and It is really making me consider another payment processor.

Zero seller protection

Zero seller protection. Buyer can lie and dispute the payment. Stripe does not help at all.
